Obituary for Robert Dale Yeagley

Robert "Bob" Dale Yeagley, 64, passed away on Monday, July 5, 2021. Robert was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Robert G. and Phyllis A. Yeagley. Robert was an outgoing and friendly guy who made friends easily everywhere he went.

A graduate of Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School in New Jersey, he met several life long friends there with whom he shared many amazing adventures with. Eventually his family moved to Pennsylvania and it was there that he met his wonderful wife of 42 years, Margaret! Before he would catch the train to work in Philly, Bob would leave Margaret a bag of flowers hanging in a tree for her to find before she began her own commute. He retired in 2015 from NAVFACMIDLANT Fleet at the Naval Base in Newport, R.I., and also Norfolk, VA where he both began and concluded his career. For 6 years, Bob lived at the Naval Base in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba where he spent his time enjoying golf, diving, and obtaining his dive master's license! He also taught kids how to snorkel. Bob loved bowling, boating, all night fishing and had a passion for coaching youth's in T-Ball and bowling alongside his wife.

Bob and Margaret made very special memories together by taking in many summer country concerts, taking driving trips to Texas to visit her mother and brother, and doting over their two chocolate labs, Max and Millie. Max and Millie loved trotting alongside Bob as he rode his bike around the neighborhood, making sure to stop and socialize with their wonderful neighbors. Bob also helped to design their house, turning it into a home. It's there that they put together a beautiful hummingbird and butterfly garden in the yard so they could enjoy nature's beauty.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Margaret H. Yeagley; sons, Jason (Shana), Bryan (Molly); grandson, Christian; sisters, Laura Pratt of Redmond, WA and Karen Richardson of Burleson, TX; aunt, Elizabeth Harms of Wichita, KS; and several nieces and nephews.

The family is planning a celebration of life for hopefully Monday, July 4th, 2022. Details to be provided at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to please be made to the American Cancer Society or the National M.S. Foundation.
