Reverend Robert Peter Coats Jr.
1962-2022
Reverend Robert Coats went home to be with his Lord and Savior September 27, 2022.
Robert was the son of Robert (Pete) Coats Sr. and Connie J. Coats.
Robert graduated from Kempsville High School and went on to attend and attain degrees at
Eastern Mennonite College (Virginia), Virginia Wesleyan University, University of North Carolina, and a Masters of Divinity Degree from Harvard Divinity School.
Robert had a life changing experience at 10 years of age when he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and from that moment on, he studied and served the Lord Jesus.
He served in many avenues of ministry in service to his Lord, including both pastoring and Hospital Chaplain. He also loved and pastored a church in Belleview Florida for several years. Robert ran an active YouTube channel ministry where he led countless people to the Throne of Grace.
Robert was a pastor, a counselor, a son, a brother, an uncle, a friend, and he was deeply loved. Robert was the son of the Most High God and though we, who are left behind, are saddened at his home-going we know that he is in His Lord's Presence, praising His Lord Jesus, completely well, completely happy, and completely whole. His home-going was unexpected-- for us but Father God has a perfect plan and purpose for each of us. We Trust Him and we Trust His Love.
There will be a Celebration of Robert's Life Saturday, October 8, 2022, 11 am, at Providence Friends Church, 5340 Providence Road, Virginia Beach, Va. Pastor Michael Barnes will be officiating. There will be refreshments following the service in the Fellowship Hall.
