Obituary for Robert Coles Bugay

Robert Coles Bugay, 65, passed away October 24, 2022. Robert was born in Charleston, SC to the late Domingo P. "Danny" and Mary Doswell Bugay. Besides his parents he was also predeceased by two siblings, Sabrina Willis (Kevin); and Danny Lee Bugay. Robert graduated from Kellam High School in 1976 before attending Woodrow Wilson Rehabilition Center in Fisherville, VA where he earned a certification in Food Service. Robert worked several jobs in the restaurant industry, but spent the majority of his career working in retail for Glass Baron and Walmart for almost 15 years. His most recent employment, however, was at Pirates Cove Restaurant in Chesapeake.

Robert did not allow his intellectual disability to prevent him from living life. He enjoyed watching old TV shows like Lost in Space, Andy Griffith and The Three Stooges to name a few. He looked forward to the haunted hayrides and other activities during Halloween. Robert put lots of mileage on his car by visiting people that he met at retail stores and restaurants just to say Hi. He loved eating out at various places like Pirates Cove, Egg Bistro, Angies and Texas Roadhouse. Robert's friendly demeanor will truly be missed.

Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Delisa Alvis (Shea) and Susie Cameron (Pat); brothers, Richard Bugay (Kristin) and Michael Bugay (Josie). Robert also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Rd., Chesapeake on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 11am with a service to celebrate life will begin promptly at 12 noon.
