Robert “Bob” Edward Old, Sr., 91, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on July 14, 2022. He was born on August 31, 1930 to the late George Dupont Old and Esther Diebler Old.

Bob was an Army veteran, who served in the Korean War. During his time in the service, he participated as a boxer in the Armed Forces Olympics, losing only in the final round. Bob retired from State Farm after a 35-year career in the insurance business serving the community of Great Bridge where he called home for his entire life. He was an avid sports fan and member of Norfolk Sports Club for many years. He continued to play competitive softball until his eighties. Bob’s daily routine was always centered around what sporting events were televised. Until his health recently declined, Bob continued to enjoy the occasional golf cart ride followed by some chipping and putting. He was a charter member of Great Bridge Baptist Church.
