Ricky Paul Ray of Virginia Beach passed into the presence of his Lord and Savior on 19 July 2020. Born in St.Louis, MO, in November of 1939, and enlisted in the United States Navy in 1957 as a “Kiddie-Cruiser”, proudly serving on active duty during the Vietnam era. He retired from service in 1976 as Chief Petty Officer, Yeoman Rate, while serving aboard the USS Vulcan as Legal Yeoman. Rickey made his second career choice in Federal Civil Service in the Human Resources Office (HRO) Norfolk and retired in 1996 as a Human Resources Special, GS-11. He then offered his experience and expertise in Security to First Baptist Church of Norfolk on Kempsville Road, serving there for 14 years, the last several years as Security Supervisor.

He is missed by his loving wife of 51 years, Judy Rice Ray; daughter Jennifer, son-in-law Bill and grandson Keegan of Smyrna, GA; daughter Debra and
son-in-law Kevin of Las Vegas, NV; two close nieces, Rebecca Fox and Angela Hodges and their families.
