Obituary for Ray Rawls

Ray Rawls, 72, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Sentara Hospice House in Virginia Beach. Ray was born in Norfolk, VA to the late William J. and Hulda Taylor Rawls. He is also predeceased by his son, Wallace “Ray” Rawls; his brothers, William and Vernon Rawls; and his sister, Lizzie Harrison. Ray was a Government civil servant for 30 years as a welder. After retirement, Ray enjoyed traveling with his wife in his camper visiting different states. He later started working at Thousand Trails campground with his wife and brother and enjoyed all the people he met. He was a friend to everyone and always willing to lend a helping hand.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 37 years, Frances L. Rawls; his big sister, Barbara Nobles, who was by his side through thick and thin, always taking care of her baby brother and her husband, James; daughters, Laurie A. Batten and her husband, David, Jennifer M. Bozeman and her husband, Michael; granddaughters, Chelsey N. Crawford and her husband, Charles, Grace E. Bozeman, Chloe R. Bozeman and Abigail F. Bozeman as well as a host of other family members and close friends.
Graham Funeral Home & Cremation Services will be caring for arrangements. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
