Obituary for Pearl June Black

Pearl June Black, 97, passed away May 23, 2021. Pearl was born in Montreal, Quebec to the late John Henry Dugard and Louisa Ann Taylor Dugard. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her loving husband, Parker Burdette Black of 55 years She loved knitting, crocheting, card making and crafting. She also operated her own catering business for many years. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Kempsville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Auxiliary and a faithful member of Tidewater Central Church of the Nazarene.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving children, Karen Ovalle, Keene Black (Deborah), Wayne Black; grandchildren, Corey Todd (Greg), Lindsey Black, Amy Sherrell, Ashley Denny (Buddy), Tiffany Cartino (Kevin), Andre Ovalle (Raven), Manuel Ovalle Jr.; great-grandchildren, Eleanor June Todd, Joseph Cartino, Thomas Cartino, David Cartino, Eden Cartino. Special Thanks to Tidewater Central Church Family and the Staff of Harmony Oakbrooke.

A celebration of her life will be held on June 5, 2021, 2 PM at Tidewater Central Church of the Nazarene, 5514 Parliament Dr. Virginia Beach, VA 23462. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to be made to Vigilant Watch (First Responders Support) https://vigilantwatchinc.org or National Hospice Foundation (Supporting Care for Patients) https://www.nhpco.org.
