Norma Jean Dykes passed away at her home after a lengthy battle with cancer on December 29, 2021, at the age of 74. She was born to the late Norman B. and Sophia Wallace Kindley. Norma was a member of Great Bridge Baptist Church and School Administrator at Providence Baptist School.

She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Marty M. Dykes, Jr.; her children, Marla D. Herndon (Keith), Mark K. Dykes (Kimberly), and Mike G. Dykes (Patrice); a brother, Tommy Wallace (Joyce); ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 6, 2022, from 6 to 7:30 pm at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake. A service to celebrate her life will be held Friday, January 7, 2022, at 2 pm at Great Bridge Baptist Church, 640 S. Battlefield Blvd, Chesapeake with Pastor Richard Castleberry officiating. She will be laid to rest at Albert G. Horton, Jr. State Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk.
