Obituary for Nathan Joseph Osborn Sr.

Nathan Joseph Osborn, Sr., passed away April 7, 2022, at the age of 97. Nathan was born in Chicago to the late Thomas and Julia McClendon Osborn. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife, Verneta E. Osborn and a son, Michael Thomas Osborn. He was a veteran of WWII having served his country in the United States Navy; was a faithful member of St. Mark’s Catholic Church, Virginia Beach; a member of the Knights of Columbus, VFW Post 4809, and WWII Veterans National Treasures Social Group. Nathan was a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University; He retired as a Chief Dental Technician and Laboratory Instructor at the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey, following his retirement, he was a school bus driver with the Virginia Beach Public Schools.

Nathan is survived by his daughter, Karen E. Trogani, and her husband, Guy; son, Nathan J. Osborn, Jr and his wife, Josey; six grandchildren, Karae Coursey, Monique Abdullah, Jordan Freels, Logan Osborn, Michael Osborn, Jr., and Ashlei Osborn; and seven great-grandchildren, Kannon Coursey, Beau Coursey, Bailey Coursey, Brook Coursey, Aubrey Abdullah, Hala Osborn, and Zamora Osborn.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 24, 2022, from 2-4 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake. A service to celebrate his life will be held Monday, April 25, 2022, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Deacon Mike Johnson officiating. He will be laid to rest with military honors at 3 p.m. at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk.
