Obituary for Mrs. Celene Roney Ballard
On Tuesday, November 19, 2019, Mrs. Celene E. Roney Ballard of Chesapeake, VA entered into eternal rest and peace at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. She was born on February 18, 1933 to the late Deacon Leroy Roney & Deaconess Ezlen P. Roney in Dinwiddie County, VA. She was also preceded in death by her only brother, Samuel S. Roney; and nephew, Renaldo "Rennie" Roney.
Celene is survived by her loving & devoted husband of 52 years, Carl G Ballard; devoted nephew & wife, Gary & Sylvia Roney of Prince George Co., Va.; Nieces, Sandra M. Sutherland of Radcliff, KY & Louise R. Graham, of Petersburg, VA.Great Nieces to include devoted Rachel Huckless of Newport News, VA; Great Nephews; Great-Great Nieces & Nephews; Sisters-in-law, Jacqueline M. Ballard, Frankie L. Johnson, Yolanda J. Ballard, Marilyn Williams all of Oklahoma City, Ok; Eula Roney of Charles City, VA; Brother-in-law, Joseph Ballard of Oklahoma City, Ok. Truly Devoted Friends, Brenda & Bruce Williams of Virginia Beach, Fatiyah Ali of Newport News, Va.; Many Loving Pemberton & Roney Cousins, other relatives and friends, far too numerous to name.
Celene was educated in Dinwiddie County, VA & graduated from Dinwiddie Training School. She matriculated at Virginia State College (Now University).
She was employed by the National Security Agency (NSA), Central State Hospital, and a member of the million dollar club as a successful Realtor.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 11 am at Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Rd. Chesapeake with a repast to follow. Burial will be private in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, VA.
