Obituary for "Miss Goldie" Kovacs Cullen

Goldie Rose Kovacs Cullen went home to be with the Lord on May 4, 2023, at the age of 83. She was the daughter of the late Charles A. Kovacs, Jr., and Margaret Banks Kovacs. She was predeceased by her siblings, Charles Anthony Kovacs, III and Virginia Kovacs Spain. Goldie was a graduate of Oscar Smith High School and member of Raleigh Heights Baptist Church.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother affectionately known as “Grandma Gold”. She worked out of her home for many years as a seamstress; her passion was cooking and baking, most kids in the neighborhood enjoyed a birthday cake, or they asked her to make their wedding cake. It seemed as if there was hardly anyone in Portlock at one time or another who didn’t enjoy her baking. One thing was certain you could always find something to munch on at the house.

She is survived by her loving husband, Allen William “Bill” Cullen, Jr., Children, Allen William “Billy” Cullen, III (Kim), W. Keith Cullen and his wife, Tracie, Margaret “Amy” Cullen Stroud and her husband, Scott, and Erin S. Cullen Roberts and her husband, Mark; 13 grandchildren, Heather, Kimberly, Candice (Chris), Katelynn, Sierra (Ronnie), Dale, Millie (Aaron), KC, Cullen, Rachael, Skylar, Kilyn and Teryn; 11 great grandchildren, Kameron, Savannah, Kamoni, Brooklyn, Carter, Cooper, Devin, Raelynn, Remi, Ryan, and Lane; siblings, Mary Ann Kovacs Gibbs, Lawrence Kovacs, and Elizabeth Kovacs Bunn; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
