Michael Edward Gaughan, 77, passed away July 22, 2020. He was born in Hazleton, PA to the late Michael and Mary Luckatch Gaughan. He served his country in the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He received numerous awards and medals for his many years of service. Michael was past Post Commander of VFW Post 392 and lifelong member of the Vietnam Veterans of America and the Association of Naval Aviators. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Mae Gaughan; daughters, Sheila DeAngelo (Neal) and Tina Miller (Chris); sisters Rose Jevit (Rich) Sally Rebarchick (Jim) brother Johnny Gaughan (Helen) Grand daughter Kristin Anunson (Mark) LeAnna Gaughan and Dominique Totani, Great grand children Madelyn and Braden Anunson. He was predeceased by his is daughter, Lisa; and sister, Cecelia. Also surviving are six stepchildren and numerous grand children and great grandchildren.
A celebration of life gathering will be held August 22, 2020 at 1 p.m. at VFW Post 392, 2408 Bowland Pkwy, Virginia Beach, VA 23454. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VFW Post 392. He will be laid to rest in Skyview Memorial Park in Tamaqua, PA on August 29, 2020 at 10am with military honors rendered.
