Obituary for Michael David Conley, OSCM (USN RET)

Michael David Conley, OSCM (USN RET) entered heaven on Jan. 23, 2022 and is now serving on the staff of the “Supreme Commander”. Mike was born on June 3rd, 1952 in Lockport, NY to Joyce (Reynolds) Richey and the late John E. Conley. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert R. Conley and Thomas L. Conley. Mike graduated from Lockport High School in 1970 and a year later enlisted in the United States Navy. He proudly served his country for 30 years achieving the top enlisted rank of Master Chief. Most recently, he worked as a Senior Test Engineer for Lockheed Martin Corporation. Above all else, Mike loved Jesus. This found light bled through, allowing Mike to find his humility, strength, and selfless love. As anyone else would tell you, Mike also possessed a sense of humor second to none. Always quick with a line from Caddyshack or Monty Python, he always looked to brighten a room with some laughs. His insatiable search for the funny led him to take up clowning, which is where he found his wife, Debbie, at a clown convention. One might say he fell head over clown heels for her. Mike was a diehard Buffalo Bills and NY Yankees fan. His favorite pastimes were spending time with his family, painting, golfing with his sons, being at sea, charting the constellations, classic movies, music, and attending Tides baseball and Admirals Hockey games.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 22 years, Debra J. Conley and his children Danielle, Darlene (Chris), Anthony, Christopher (Leah), Daniel (Rebecca), and Steven. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, several nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Mike also leaves behind his best buddy and shadow, his lab Sophia.

The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services, on Friday, February 4, 2022 from 5-8 p.m. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 3 p.m. at Freedom Fellowship, 836 Regency Drive, Virginia Beach, with Pastor Rick Hocker and Pastor Anthony Robinette officiating.
