Maurice Ralph Phillippi, 85, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020. He was born in Canton, Ohio to the late Maurice C. and Josephine Garcia Phillippi. He was also predeceased by his beloved wife of 57 years, Carol Frances Phillippi, who he met in New York City where they were both professional dancers. They entertained together and worked with many of the biggest stars of the day. Their dancing took them to 52 countries and 48 states. In the nineteen- seventies they settled in Carol’s home town of Chesapeake, and became owners of American Hardware and Home Center. Maurice built their treasured home brick by brick and it became a warm and welcoming gathering place for family and friends to enjoy pool parties and cookouts. Their Christmas decorations were a must see for many years.
His memory will be cherished by a host of loving family members and dear friends. The family wishes to thank Dr. Meredith Rose, Dr. Williams and Dr. Fleming for their many years of dedicated attention and special care. The recent loving caregiving of Rosalynn and Kody are also cherished as is the devoted friendship of John Bell.
