Mary Lue Brewer, 54 years old, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2020. Mary, born in Norfolk, VA is predeceased by her father and mother, Robert G and Shelva L. Tilton. Mary had a great love of children. Though she never had any of her own, she was the mother of over 170 children that had come through her home in foster care. If you ever met Mary once, you had a lifetime friend. That’s just how Mary was. Once a friend, always a friend. Mary truly had a servant’s heart that always wanted to help others. She was quick witted that helped her make the most boring story to come true.

Mary leaves behind a husband, Robert E. Brewer of 31 years; ten children, Nikemeon, Jermel, Morgan, Emma, Wynter, Jessie, Jordan, Steven, Andre and Elisa; granddaughter, Na`Liyah; brothers, Deen Herndon and Phillip Reardon; a cousin who was always by her side, Denise Bruner; and a host of nieces, nephews and brothers and sisters in-laws.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Friday, October 2, 2020 at 11am at Redeemed Church of God, 1300 Jackson Avenue, Chesapeake. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5-8pm at Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake.
