Margaret "Peggy" VanVarden, 77, passed away peacefully in her sleep March 24, 2023. Peggy was born February 11, 1946 in Irvington, New Jersey to the late Frank and Nora Abline Frana. She attended Union High School in Union, NJ. Peggy was a member of St Paul's Church in Irvington, NJ but regularly attended Deep Creek Baptist Church in Chesapeake, VA. Peggy was retired from Pizza Hut and American Airlines. She loved traveling, bowling, concerts, festivals, amusement parks, movies and family, especially her adopted families.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving sister, Carol Rusignuolo; niece, Eileen Eordanidis; sons, John Frana (Marie) and Robert Erdman; grandchildren, Theresa Frana, Alicia & Ray Ewing, Cody & Mallory Kunkel, Krysta Frana, Korey Kunkel; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Riley and Logan Ewing, Bentley and Ashton Kunkel, Issac Frana, Aaliyah and Bryson Conner; close friends, Cathy Waggoner and Arlene Robinson; and a host of other family and friends. Predeceased by her sister, Marie Byers and 3 brothers, George, Frank and Robert Frana; daughter, Denise Burgess and son, Roland VanVarden.

A service to celebrate her life will be held 2pm on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Deep Creek Baptist Church, 250 Mill Creek Pkwy, Chesapeake, VA 23323 with Pastor Ernie Myers officiating.
