Linda Marie Bowers went home to be with the lord on September 30, 2022 at the age of 60.Linda was born on October 31, 1960 to Don and Phyllis Rickabaugh. She was one of five children. She was raised in Sherry Park and briefly relocated to Florida with her first husband David Scott Sr. and their three children before returning to Virginia Beach and later settling in Currituck NC. David and Linda divorced in 2001 and she later remarried where she relocated to Northwestern VA. She would later return to her childhood home to help care for her aging mother.
Linda was a devoted mother and wife and often cared for others children to help provide for her family, she always had a special love for children and taking care of her home. Her big smile and kind heart will be missed dearly.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents Don and Phyllis Rickabaugh, her husband Butch Bowers, two sisters Terry Baum and Claire Perry and her only son David Scott Jr.
Linda is survived by two daughters Kristina Smith and her husband Marvin Smith Jr., and Danielle Batson and her husband James Batson Jr.Three grandchildren, Laycee Tatem,James Batson III,and Jayden Batson, a brother Frankie Gillespie, a sister Patsy Parker and her husband Jeff Parker and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and numerous extended family from her first marriage that will miss her dearly. Linda will be cremated and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date. It gives her family great solace knowing she has joined her son in heaven as she was never the same after his death.
