Lexie Elliott Jones, 91, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2018 surrounded by loved ones. Lexie was born May 22, 1927, the youngest of seven children of Alexander and Bertha Harmon of Woodlawn, VA. She worked at the ammunition depot and retired as an accounting supervisor for the U.S. Coast Guard. She is a member of South Norfolk Baptist Church and the South Norfolk Woman’s Club. Lexie was a member of the Friendship Chapter #57 of the Order of the Eastern Star having served as the Worthy Matron for 1983-84; In 1987-88 she served as the Grand Marshall of Virginia for the Eastern Star and later joined Berkley Chapter #52. Lexie was predeceased by her husband’s Herbert Edwin Elliott and Eddie Jones. She was also predeceased by her son, David Elliott.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Rita Hughes and her husband, Joe of San Antonio, TX; daughter-in-law, Linda Elliott and grandson, Jonathan Elliott; step-children, Debbie Voso and husband, Guy and Raymond Jones and his wife, Joan. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren and her beloved cat, Molly.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 from 6 to7:30 at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake. A service to celebrate her life will be held Thursday, October 25, 2018 at 11 a.m. at South Norfolk Baptist Church, 1101 Chesapeake Ave, Chesapeake with Pastor Kyle Rader officiating. She will be laid to rest at Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be made to South Norfolk Baptist Church.
