Larry Keith Sharp, 69, passed away peacefully at home on May 11, 2022, after a long courageous battle with cancer with his loving wife by his side. He was born on January 2, 1953, in the South Norfolk area of Chesapeake, to the late James Leroy Sharp and Pauline Beedie Sharp.
Keith attended Frederick Military Academy and graduated from Oscar Smith High School in 1971, where he met his wife Faughn. He was so proud that he was never detected as he sat behind her in World History class, scribbling on her bra strap through the knit of her sweaters. When she graduated, (she was a year ahead), she went off to Logwood University while he finished high school. They both went their separate ways. Thirty years later, Keith reached out to her through Classmates.com and the rest is history!
After graduation, Keith was employed by the A.B. Dick Company in Norfolk and following a promotion, relocated to Nashville, Tennessee. He became vice-president and service manager for Brooks Technology, then service manager and executive officer at Laser Plus Inc. He ended his career as a Safety and Security manager, (OSHA) working at Collins Machine in Portsmouth.
While in Murfreesboro, TN, Keith graduated from Middle Tennessee State University and was inducted into the Gamma Beta Phi and Sigma Phi Epsilon Honor Societies. Keith was a 32° Mason, belonging to Mt. Moriah Lodge #18 in Murfreesboro and South Norfolk Lodge #339. He was also a member of the Murfreesboro Jaycees, the Moose Lodge and Northside Baptist Church.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 20 wonderful years, Faughn Crockett Sharp; sons, Austin Sharp (Elizabeth), Brandon A. Sharp (Brittany), Tyler Whitfield, and 4 grandchildren, Ezekiel Sharp, Timothy Sharp, Brayden Sharp and Brayleigh Sharp; a sister, Carol Zeagler.
Keith never knew a stranger and would always make you feel welcomed. Anyone that truly knew him, knew he had a big heart. He touched the lives of many people with his kindness and courtesy. He'd give you anything even if it wasn't his to give. He loved fiercely and deeply. Keith loved hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family.
