Kathleen Lane Westmoreland passed away on January 6, 2019. She was the daughter of the late James and Eileen Lane, and the granddaughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. O.D. Poythress.
She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Raymond Westmoreland, as well as her son, Dale Westmoreland and his wife Lauren; her brother, James Lane Jr; her brother-in-law, Mike Westmoreland; and sister-in-law, Sandy Westmoreland. She will also be missed by her many cousins and friends.
Kathleen was a member of South Norfolk Congregational Christian Church, where she was a part of the Gertrude Bunch ladies circle. She worked as a teacher’s aid for South Norfolk Christian School and KinderCare. Her greater life’s work was loving and caring for her family, friends, and her church community.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-7:30pm at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake, VA 23320. Her service will take place at the funeral home on Thursday at 10:00am. The family will be gathering at South Norfolk Congregational Christian Church following the service for a Reception. She will be laid to rest at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, VA at 2:00pm. Memorial Donations may be mailed to the church at 1030 Jackson Ave. Chesapeake, VA 23324.
