Obituary for Juan Lazo

Juan Lazo, 98 went home to be with the Lord January 31, 2022. He was born in the Province of Tayug, Philippines to the late Eutaqio and Maria Barrientos Lazo . Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his beloved wife of 57 years, Praxides Acosta Lazo whom he lost in 2013 and youngest son, John Acosta Lazo age 5, who passed away in 1970. Juan served his country faithfully, retiring from the U.S. Navy. He subsequently retired from NorfolK NAVSTA Commissary. Juan loved playing golf, cards with his friends, going to parties with his late wife, and working in his garden, his greatest love was his family.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Fernando Lazo and his wife Debi; his only daughter, Evangeline Lazo Woodward,”Gigi,” and her Husband David; grandchildren, Madrena Ivey and her husband Logan, Natasha Lazo, and Xylina Griggs and her husband Jerry; great grandchild, London, Neyalani, and Theodore. He is also survived by numerous extended family members and dear friends all over the world.

The family is inviting friends to pay respects Tuesday, February 8, 2022 from 6-7:30pm at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Rd., Chesapeake. A service to celebrate his life will be held Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jonathan Lowery officiating.
