Joyce Imogene Beard, 77, passed away September 27, 2018 in Bassett, VA. Joyce was born in Stork, VA to the late Clyde and Opal Settle Beard. Besides her parents she was predeceased by sisters, Kathryn DeGarmo and Dorothy Carneal. Joyce retired as a 911 Dispatcher with the Chesapeake Police Department. She was a member of Rosemont Christian Church, having served as in the choir and was a former Deaconess.

She is survived by her brother, Edward Beard and his wife, Bobbie; nieces, Ashley Beard, Courtney Melchor and her husband, Rick, and Debbie Pride; nephew, Chris Carneal and his wife, Sue; and a host of other family and friends.

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held Sunday, September 30, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake with Chaplain Dave Libengood and Pastor Mark Gorgans officiating.
