Joseph Gordon Old Jr., 94, passed away July 30, 2022. Gordon was born in South Norfolk, Virginia to the late Joseph G. Old Sr. and Mildred Meads Old. Known as Gordon, Joe, Dad. and Granddaddy, he was a member of Great Hope Baptist Church. He retired in 1988 with Norfolk Naval Air Station as a Production Controller in the Aircraft Group and in 1974 retired from farming. He worked several years at Great Hope Baptist Church in building and ground maintenance. Throughout his life he enjoyed teaching, home and auto repairs, spending time with his children, many grandkids, and great grandkids. He was devoted to the love of his life, his wife Margery.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Margery Mae Old; daughter, Susan G. Keel (Howard); sons, Ronald W. Old Sr. (Judy), Steven "Mark" Old (Susan) Keith Old (Angie); 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Rd. Chesapeake, Friday, August 5, 2022 at 10 am. A service to celebrate his life will begin promptly at 11am at funeral home with Pastor Lee Godfrey and John Godfrey Jr. officiating.
