Obituary for Joseph "Joey" William Arenth

Joseph “Joey” William Arenth was born on October 2, 1988 to Mona and Joseph Arenth in Virginia Beach, VA. He was a 2006 graduate of Lakeland High School in Suffolk, VA. A bright and outgoing man with a love for people, he chose the restaurant industry as his profession and worked with several restaurants in Virginia, Florida, and the Carolinas. His expertise in restaurant management and developing relationships with personnel culminated in his selection as the Director of Operations for nine Carolina Ale House locations in North and South Carolina. This position allowed him to touch the lives of thousands of friends, co-workers, and customers in the Southeast Region of the United States with his enthusiasm, intelligence, and genuine desire to help others. Joey passed into eternal life on December 1, 2020 in Summerville, SC.

Joey is survived by his mother, Mona Asberry, his dad, Bruce Asberry, his brother, Ryan, and his stepsister, Alexandra. He also leaves behind his two dogs that he treated as his children, Marley and Craven. He is also survived by the thousands of extended family, friends, and co-workers whose lives he has touched in his short time on this earth.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020 at 2pm at Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake. Please visit his Book of Memories at www.grahamfuneralhome.com where you may leave a note to the family. In lieu of flowers, a GoFundMe page has been established to provide for Joey’s two dogs, Marley and Craven (titled “Help Joseph’s fur babies, Marley and Craven). He loved these two dogs as if they were his own children, and the family is working hard to care for them and find them a home where they will be loved as much as Joey loved them. The donations will cover veterinary bills, food, training, and the vetting of proper homes for both of Joey’s beloved fur babies.
