John Alac Dunn, 79, went home to his Lord on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, cousin, uncle and friend. He is survived by his wife Sandra: sister, Mildred Freethy (Bill); brother, Talmage Dunn (Janet); son, John A. Dunn II (Kim); daughters, Kristana Dunn and Samantha Gober (Brad); six grandchildren; a great-grand-daughter; as well as many cousins; nieces and nephews. John was an avid gardener who specialized in hot peppers. Other interests included reading, sharing stories with others, and earlier in life, hunting and fishing. An animal lover, he doted on the dogs, Kaeden and Kaelan, who loved to keep him company in his recliner. He was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church, as well as several masonic organizations and was a proud Mason for over fifty years, having served as Master of Bayside and Elizabeth Lodges. He was also active in the Knights Templar and Royal Arch organizations. John was a special person who made an impact on all who called him a friend. He will be forever in our hearts and missed terribly by many.
