Joanne Pospiel, 64, passed away March 18, 2023. Joanne was born in Paterson, New Jersey to Margaret Macalle Pospiel and the late Robert W. Pospiel. Joanne retired from Railroad Construction Company and moved to Chesapeake, VA in 2006 where she lived with her friends and her beloved dog, Pepe. Despite relocating to Virginia, Joanne stayed true to her Jersey roots and remained an avid fan of the Mets and Giants until the very end. Joanne always had a strong love for music, but she especially loved 50’s and 60’s music the most. When she was wasn’t yelling at the Mets on the tv, you would definitely find her singing along to her favorite, Joel Katz and the Dymensions.


Besides her mother, Joanne left behind to cherish her memory is her loving sisters, Lori Pospiel and Susan Pospiel Farese; her brothers, Brian Pospiel and Robert Anthony Pospiel; nieces, Danielle Farese and Christina Farese Lewis; nephew, Nicholas Pospiel; and a great niece, Jasmin Pospiel and a host of other family and friends.

A Celebration of her life will be held for family and friends on Saturday, April 29th at The Tides, 1245 Belmont Avenue, North Haledon, New Jersey at 11:00 am.
