Howard W. “Boom Boom” Combs, 91, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022. He was born in Earlington, Kentucky to the late David F. and Golda Wilson Combs. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his wife, Dorothy May Combs. He served his country faithfully in the U.S. Navy and subsequently retired from the Naval Air Rework Facility as an aircraft engine technician. Howard further served his community as a former active volunteer with the Chesapeake Fire Department and past president Washington Borough Volunteers Stations 3 and 4.. He was a longtime member of Oaklette United Methodist Church.
Left to cherish his memory is his son, Russell V. Combs (Helen); stepson, Vernon “Bill” E. Eure, Jr. (Diana); grandchildren, Jaime Combs (Kimberly), Candice Henry (Ben), Christie Gantner (Jason), Jason Eure (Jennifer); great grandchildren, Joseph Henry, Avery Eure, , Abby Gantner, and Charlie Gantner.
The family is inviting friends Thursday, June 16, 2022 from 6-7:30pm at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Rd. Chesapeake. A funeral ceremony to celebrate his life will be held Friday, June 17, 2022 at 11am at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest privately in Albert G.
