Obituary for Helen Raye Walters
Helen Raye Walters of Chesapeake passed away on Friday, February 12, 2021 at the age of 96. She was born in Superior, WV on January 2, 1925. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles J. "Jack" Walters of Orange, VA and also predeceased by four brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include daughters; Betty L. Jenkins, Peggy W. Saintsing; son, Daniel R. Walters; grandchildren, Mark L. Rogers, John P. Saintsing, Kelly Jo Colombrito, Dustin R. Walters; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was known to most of the younger generation as "YaYa".
She retired in 1980 at age 55 from AandP in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She then worked many years in retail and retired again at age 90. Helen will always be remembered for her love of cooking, shopping and was generous to a fault.
A funeral ceremony will be held Friday, February 19, 2021 at 11am at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Rd, Chesapeake. She will be laid to rest privately in Graham Cemetery in Orange, Virginia. Please visit www.grahamfuneralhome.com to offer condolences to the family.
