Obituary for Helen May Brown (Thienes)
Helen May Brown passed away peacefully on September 19, 2019 at the age of 62. Helen was born in Pigeon, Michigan on July 11, 1957 to Jerome P. Thienes, Sr and Rosanna (Dennehey) Thienes.
Helen graduated from Saginaw State University in Michigan. This led her to a 25+ year career as a Teachers Assistant for Chesapeake City Public Schools. She was able to retire in June 2019. Throughout her time with CCPS Helen made MANY wonderful friends, and her students loved her.
While her brother Jay was in the military stationed in Virginia, he introduced Helen to his friend, Thomas. Thomas and Helen fell in love and were married on June 21, 1986 and together they had two children.
In May of 2018 Helen became a Grandma. Helen made sure everyone knew how much she adored Camden. Helen was the first to volunteer to babysit, no matter what she was going through.
Helen was predeceased by her father Jerome P. Thienes, Sr.
She is survived by her mother, Rosanna Thienes; her loving husband of 33 years, Thomas “TB” Brown; her children, Andrew F. Brown (Kayla), and Jeremy T. Brown (Julia); two brothers, Joseph E. Thienes and Jerome “Jay” Thienes, Jr. (Sharon); sister, Katherine Hormel (Timothy); grandson, Camden Brown and several nieces and nephews. Helen also had a few friends that she loved like family.
