Obituary for George Melvin Hill, Jr.
George M. HIll, Jr., 72, of Chesapeake, VA; with his family by his side, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 7, 2020.
George was born on September 5, 1947, to the late George M. Hill, Sr. and Betty Jo Daniels Hill, and the beloved husband to Martha J. Hill. They enjoyed 48 years of marraige, centered around faith, family, and serving others. George was an avid Nascar and ice hockey fan. He loved his church family and was a devoted member of Grace Baptist Temple.
Along with his loving wife; he is survived by his children, Tammy Hill, Pam Smith and her husband Rick Smith, son Robert L. Cartwright Jr., 7 grandchildren, Shane, Kari, Kasi, Kala, Michael, Eliabeth and Bray, 18 great grandchildren, and 3 great greatchildren; who he absolutely adored and took every opportunity to tell anyone that would listen all about them. He loved his Lord and prayed every day for his family and named them all by name. He also is survived by 2 brothers Thomas Hill and wife Colleen, Michael Hill and wife Patty, a niece and nephew and lots of extended family.
He is predeceased by son Timothy B. Cartwright, daughter n law Dianne Cartwright, and future son n law Timothy Schock.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time.
