Jean, I just now heard about Gene's passing and I am so so sorry to hear this..... "Gene and Jean" were absolute "rock stars" at Westminster for so many years and our Lord blessed me "beyond measure" with your two friendships.......I'm so sorry that as I've been out of the loop with you two for such a long time, but I can tell you that BOTH of you will surely have crowns in Heaven and if there have ever been two faithful servants, it would be the two of you. Gene will be missed, and I am praying for you and your family, but I rest with peace knowing that I'll see him again......Love you!!! Billy Chorey

To the family of Mr. Gene Edgar Houchins, Sr. My mother and I wish to express our sincerest condolences to you. At such a time as this we've found that the Bible provides not only the best of encouragement, insightful and educational knowledge, it also provides the best of comforting words as well. When you've time, please consider reading a few of our favorite texts: Isaiah 25:8, 1Corinthians 15:26 and Revelation 21:3, 4. Please be assured that these promises are true because God cannot lie. (Titus 1:2) Until this wonderful promise becomes the reality it will become from Jehovah God by means of His Son Christ Jesus, we wish family and friends peace and comfort that Jehovah, the God of comfort will bring you. (2Corinthians 1:3, 4) Our most heartfelt regards, Joyce & Stacy Howard.

Mrs. Houchins, Scott, Mark and Ann, my deepest sympathy during your time of loss. I have such wonderful memories of when we were neighbors in Acredale. Mrs. Houchins, you always brightened my day when I'd see you in school! When i just saw Mr. Houchins obituary in the paper I knew that was the Gene of Jean & Gene when I saw he'd retired from McCormick - before I saw those familiar names, especially Scott's since we were in the same grade and shared several classes over the years. As a child it was so special having neighbors like you & really missed y'all when you moved to Bellamy. 66 years of marriage must bring you many joyous and heart filled memories. I hope these memories sustain you and you'll see Mr. Houchins in you children & grandchildren whose love will strengthen you. May love and faith sustain all of you and God's blessings to you. Sincerely, Lisa Green

Oh my goodness. The things I remember about this wonderful man and dear friend. Years of memories!!! He and my precious husband Shot, who passed away in Sept 2018, must be having a grand old time catching up in heaven today. God Bless you Jean and your family as you adjust to a new life without Gene. Believe me, you will find your way in time. I love you! Gloria

Ed, Ann, Hannah, & Family, You are in our thoughts and prayers. Your Dad and Granddad was a true gentleman whose kindness and special friendship toward us will be remembered forever. While we knew him only briefly, his smile and engaging talks will be everlasting. May the experiences and memories you shared comfort you in your time of sorrow. May God Bless you and your Family.
