Frederick "Freddie" Charles Harrell, 70, passed away August 23, 2017. Freddie was born in Norfolk to the late James and Martha Casey Harrell and was the loving husband of the late Linda Jones-Harrell. He was a proud member of the United States Marines and retired as a Gunnery Sergeant after serving in Vietnam and earning the Silver Star, the Bronze Star, and 4 Purple Hearts. More recently, Freddie worked as a security guard for Sentara.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Jami Fritz (Rusty) and Jennifer Hammond (Kevin); grandchildren, Jacob, Cody, Eric, Justine, and Shaylynn; sisters, Frances Truitt and Judy Tyler; and a host of other family and friends that will miss him dearly.

A service to celebrate his life, with full military honors, will be held Sunday, August 27, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake. A reception will immediately follow the service. He will be privately laid to rest at Albert G. Horton, Jr. State Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk.
