Obituary for Foster Dickinson Buyrn
Foster Dickinson Buyrn, 85, passed away January 29, 2023. Foster was born in Norfolk, Virginia to the late Oswald Haynes and Thelma Dickinson Buyrn.
He graduated from Maury High School and then did a short stint in the Army before joining the family business.
He enjoyed watching sports on TV and in person, especially women’s sports. He said women played with more finesse. He passed along his love of horses to his daughter and enjoyed riding with her, and later, her and his son-in-law.
Left to cherish his memory is a son, Stephen Buyrn of Virginia Beach; a daughter, Melinda Sawyer and husband, Tim, of Suffolk; brother, Eugene Buyrn of Virginia Beach; sister, Thelma Overstreet of Virginia Beach; nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins.
The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 from 6 - 7:30 pm. A service to celebrate his life will be held Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 2 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Joseph F. Amory, Jr officiating.
