Enid Little Clarke, 95, passed away on November 15, 2018. Born in Englewood, NJ to the late Edward and Alice Demarest Little, she graduated from Oberlin College with a degree in Modern Languages and Voice. During World War II she sang at USO hospitals for wounded servicemen and women and at the Stage Door Canteen, then sang professionally with two road shows, meeting her husband in “Oklahoma!”. While raising a family, she was a soprano soloist at National City Christian Church for five years, and continued sharing her voice with various Hampton Roads and Roanoke entertainment/theater groups, choirs, and the occasional commercial or short program. Enid taught pre-school music, was an avid tennis player and former USTA umpire, participated in English hand bell choirs, enjoyed bowling on a Senior League team, was a member and former Regent of the Fort Lewis Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, and a member of the Mayflower Society. She was most recently a member of Windsor Hills United Methodist Church and also attended Northview United Methodist Church, both in Roanoke, VA.

Enid is survived by a sister in Knoxville, TN; a son and his wife in Troutville, VA; a daughter and her husband in Chesapeake, VA; a step-daughter and step-grandson in Virginia Beach, VA; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution may be made to a charity of choice or the Windsor Hills UMC organ fund.
