Elwood Russell "Russ" Brown, 86, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 10, 2023. Elwood was born in Ashland, Kentucky to the late Armond Carman and Irene Pratt Brown. He served his country faithfully in the Vietnam War and retiring from the U.S. Navy. He subsequently was employed as a supply tech for the federal government from which he retired in 2010. Russ enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, was an avid WWE fan, and was a longtime member of Woodland Heights Baptist Church.

Left to cherish his memory is his adoring wife of 60 years, Carol Lovelace Brown; son, Richard "Rick" Brown (Brenda); daughter, Robin Keller; grandchildren, Michael and Christopher; great-grandchildren, Alex and Joshua; brother, Phillip Brown; sister, Harriett Leins; and extended family members and dear friends.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023 at 2pm at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Rd. Chesapeake. The family is inviting friends to visit and continue fellowship following the ceremony. He will be laid to rest in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk at a later date.
