On November 16, 2022, Elizabeth ”Beth” Emily Lindsey passed away peacefully at the age of 69. Beth was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Elizabeth Lindsey, as well as by her husband, Frank Papa.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Lindsey Ward Kennedy; son in law, Dustin Kennedy; brother, Daniel W. Lindsey, III (Ike Wood); and sister, Martha Lindsey Glenn (Kevin). Beth is also survived by the two greatest joys of her life, her grandchildren, Kailey and Nolan Kennedy.
Beth was a 1971 graduate of Oscar Smith High School. She began her career at the age of 20 as a medical secretary for Dr. Howard C. Steier in Norfolk, VA. Beth eventually went on to become The Group for Internal Medicine practice manager where she was instrumental in the implementation of the first electronic/paperless medical record practice in Virginia. After moving on from her medical practice management position, Beth opened a very successful medical transcription service.
Later, upon retiring, Beth went on to become a full time Nanu to her grandbabies. She loved nothing more than picking up Kailey and Nolan from preschool, attending all their events, and being present in their daily lives. Both Kailey and Nolan were truly her angels.
Beth’s family will receive visitors on Sunday, November 20, from 3:00pm-5:00pm. A memorial service will be held Monday, November 21, at 11:00am. Both the visitation and memorial service will be held at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake.
The family would like to thank Commonwealth Memory Care for the amazing care they provided to Beth over the last 2 ½ years. She was loved dearly by all at the facility. Thank you to Trinity Hospice as well for their support to both Beth and her family, especially in recent months.
