Obituary for Eleanor A. "Teeny" Howland

Eleanor Alexander Teeny Howland, 95, of Great Bridge Blvd passed away February 19, 2021. She was a native of South Norfolk born to the late Mark M. Alexander, Sr. and Mattie Forehand Alexander. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 75 years, Harry L. Howland, Jr.; and brother, Ronald J. Alexander. She was a Charter Member of Great Bridge Presbyterian Church, in her later years she re-joined South Norfolk Baptist Church; she retired after 25 years as a substitute teacher with the Chesapeake Public Schools. Teeny was a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by her daughters, Pamela J. Warren and Robert W. Morelli, and Beverly Shechtman and Robert L. Scott; grandchildren, Matthew and Emily Shechtman and Sarah and Lyle Savant; five great-grandsons, Carter M. Smith, Tyler E. Savant, Jayce E. R. Smith, Bowen W. Shechtman and Graham H. Shechtman; and her siblings, Anna A. Maples, Mark M. Alexander, Jr., Laura A. Fay Coulter and Carole L. Alexander.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 from 12 to 6 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake; guest will be limited to ten at any given time. A service to celebrate her life will be held Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 12 noon at the funeral home. Due to COVID restrictions temperature checks and masks are required to enter the building; seating is limited. She will be laid to rest privately at Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk.
