Was born September 21, 1929 and passed away March 1, 2020.
Reunited after 130 days brings us all comfort knowing they are together again. If you had pleasure of knowing these two, consider yourself blessed. Over the years if you had a cup of tea, German Sausage or Wendy’s Chili with them, then you made a friend for life. They loved and cared deeply for their family and friends and are survived by five children, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Ed and Joan were raised in Dubuque, Iowa. After getting married in 1950 and having five children, they settled down in Virginia Beach, VA. They were hard working and caring folks. Ed and Joan always had a story and a joke to share. They gave back to their community and were active in their church, Thalia Lynn Baptist. They enjoyed ODU women’s basketball games together and were part of the Big Blue Club. They were season ticket holders to the Wells Theater where they would enjoy Sunday matinees and sat in what Joan called, “the best seats in the house.” They were a part of the Gator Volksmarch Club and loved to travel all over, especially Germany where they did several Volksmarches together.
