Edna Eugene Coates-Gay, 92, passed away on November 5th, 2022 of natural causes. Edna was born on November 12th, 1929 in Blue Ridge, Virginia. She lived a long, happy life making memories with her loved ones. In her early years, Edna worked for Armour Star as a factory worker and spent her free time cooking wonderful meals. As she reached her older years, she enjoyed watching Jerry Springer and doing crossword puzzles. Edna also loved having visitors and talking to friends and family on the phone. She will always be loved and deeply missed.
Left to cherish her memory is her sister, Mandy Jefferson; daughters, Mae Bowman, Charlotte Silverthorne; many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. May she rest in peace with her husband, Floyd Gay; sisters, Dorothy Kappes, Gracie Cooper and children, Dennis Dunford and Agnes Penney.
