Obituary for Earlene Laveta Lietz

Earlene Laveta (Dickey) Lietz of Chesapeake, Virginia went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at the age of 76.Earlene was born September 8, 1942, in Farmington, Missouri, to the late Earl C. and June L. (Clymer) Dickey. Preceding her in death are her sister Beverly J. (Dickey) Johnson Sellers and her brother Paul E. Dickey.
Earlene was the eldest child of six children. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Farmington, Missouri and a member of the Order of the Pythian Sisters. Earlene and her husband David lived wherever his naval career took them and settled in Farmington, Missouri when he retired. In 1985 Earlene and her husband moved back to Virginia to live near their children and grandchildren where her family has continued to grow throughout the years.Throughout her life she enjoyed bowling, crocheting, knitting and in the last year she discovered 3D Diamond Painting which seemed to be one of her favorite things to do.
Left behind to cherish Earlene's memory is her husband of 60 years, David Eugene Lietz; her five children, Earl E. Lietz (Ann), Teresa D. Cribb (William), Patricia J.McCormic (Paul), Robert N. Lietz (Laura), and David E. R. Lietz, all who live in the Deep Creek area of Chesapeake, VA.; Nine grandchildren, Christian, Bobbie, Melinda, Brenda, Jeremiah, Melissa, Brianna, Brandon, and Justin; eight great grandchildren, Sophia, Kinsley, Lucca, Gavin, Corinne, Connor, Elliana and Maddox; her sister, Tina M. (Dickey) Beason; her brothers, Terry L. Dickey and Earl C. Dickey, Jr. and a host of relatives and friends who knew her as Mama Neen.
The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral and Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake, Va., on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., with a funeral service celebrating her life on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at Albert G.
