Donald Eugene Martin, 62, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2019. He was born in Jarvisburg, NC to the late Ralph Eugene Martin and Lucille Elizabeth Doughtie and was also preceded by his twin brother, Ralph Martin; and sister, June Lynch. Donald loved Harley Davidson motorcycles, and had a personality that lit up every room that he entered. He was a member of Civitans Acres / Eagleston Day support program which he enjoyed very much. Donald loved to color, work puzzles, watch TV (especially the Andy Griffith Show and Bonanza). Donald started watching basketball with his “best friend” Glenn and would tell him which team was going to win; Donald would always root for the opposite team that his sister Rose would be rooting for and would get a kick out of it when his team would win. He loved it when his brother, Buddy would pick him and James up and take them to his house in North Carolina.
Left to cherish his memory are his siblings, Rose Yahner and her partner Glenn Martin, Clarence Martin and his wife Marsha, Mary Martin, William “Buddy” Martin and his wife Crystal, Harry Martin and his wife Jennifer, and Peggy Martin; aunts, Susie Palmer and her husband Charlie, Mary Linton and her husband Allen; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and dear friends.
The family will have a time of visitation Thursday, May 9, 2019 from 6 – 7:30pm at Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsvile Rd., Chesapeake. A celebration of his life will be held Friday, May 10, 2019 at 11am at the funeral home with Chaplain Linda Minner officiating.
