Diane Thornton Huss, 77, passed away January 30, 2021. She was predeceased by her parents, William L. Thornton, Sr. and Mrs. Hilda”14” Hodges Thornton. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Will “Bill” L. Thornton, Jr., James “Dickie” Thornton and David C. “D.C.” Thornton. Diane was born in Norfolk, VA; attended Lafayette Elementary, Willard Middle, Northside Jr. High and graduated from Maury High School. She went to work at C and P Telephone Co. and retired from Bell Atlantic after 37 years of service. She also worked and retired from Cox Communications.

Survivors include her daughters, Dana L. Harrison and Jenn L. Gdovin (Matt); granddaughters, Cameron L. Hacku, Cole L. Spencer, Ella B. Gdovin, Emerson B. Gdovin; grandsons, Gray R. Harrison, and Dillon L. Harrison; great-grandson, Remington Red Harrison; great-granddaugher, Reagan Harrison; brother, Jesse C. Thornton; and longtime friend, Bobby Harrison. She was able, occasionally to get together with friends from Maury High. Diane also enjoyed time with a countless number of “telephone company” friends, who love to get together for food and fun. She was blessed with having the best neighbors anyone could ask for, Betty and Phil Johnson.
