David Andrew Mashaw Sr.
July 14, 1950 - October 25, 2022
David Andrew Mashaw, Sr. of Chesapeake, VA passed away to his eternal home in heaven on Tuesday, October 25th, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Mashaw; his brother, Lane Mashaw; two sons, Andrew Mashaw and his wife, Heidi, and Reece Mashaw and his wife, Erin; and six grandchildren, Gavin, Kate, Emma, Luke, Wyatt, and Isabelle. He is preceded in death by his father, Andrew Mashaw, and his mother, Sara Mashaw. David graduated from Virginia Wesleyan University with a degree in biology and worked over 30 years for the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality. He held a deep affection for the Miami Dolphins, the New York Yankees, and all kinds of seafood. And he never saw a golf course he didn’t like or a kids sports team he couldn’t coach. He loved Jesus and was a committed member at New Life Church, serving in various roles such as cell group leader, communion team member, and prayer team coordinator.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 30, 2022 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake. A Celebration of Life in David’s honor is being held on Tuesday, November 1st at 1:00 p.m. at New Life Church, 1244 Thompkins Ln, Virginia Beach, VA 23464 with Pastor Dan Backens officiating David’s family will receive friends at a reception immediately following the service at New Life Church.
