David Joseph Krause, 89, passed away March 16, 2023, in Chesapeake General Regional Hospital. David was born in Pennsylvania to the late Alton and Josephine Krause. David was predeceased by his beloved wife of 64 yrs., Edith H. Krause. David served his country faithfully in the US Army during the Korean War. After his tour he returned to Bridesburg, Philadelphia and accepted a job at Rohm and Haas chemical plant as a plant operator until his retirement in 2000.

The family had a house built in Laurel Delaware, where they enjoyed the slow pace of retirement life listening to classical music. Dad loved to go fishing, gardening and being the handyman for his neighbors. The last year of David's life was spent at Bickford of Chesapeake assisted living. He had many friends, enjoyed lots of activities, helped other residents with projects and spent time playing cards.

Left to cherish his memory are his three children, Debbie (David), Steven (Kimberly), and Jeffrey (Marianne); seven grandchildren, Kimberly, Sean, Jennifer, Steven Jr, Jessica, Alexis, and Kyle; three great grandchildren, Johnny, Jenna, and Jace; and many nephews and nieces.

The family is inviting friends to celebrate his life at Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Rd. Chesapeake, on Friday, April 28, 2023, at 12:00.
