Obituary for Darrell Ray Fields

Darrell R. Fields, 58, died on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 in Chesapeake, VA. He was born in Everett, WA. Darrell was a proud citizen of the Cherokee nation. He graduated from Christian International Seminary in FL. Darrell pastored in Honolulu, HI; Lake Havasu, AZ; Carlisle and Mechanicsburg, PA. He and his wife, Lorrie founded the non-profit "The Seed of a Nation" and co-authored a book by the same title, expounding on William Penn's "Holy Experiment of Love." Darrell loved all people unconditionally; everyone he met became a friend. He was also a great lover of nature, art and photography.

Darrell is survived by his wife, Lorrie; two sons, Jeffrey and Brian Fields and daughter, Sarah Cowell; his son-in-law, Chase Cowell and daughter-in-law, Margarita Fields; two grandchildren, Evangeline and Luca Fields; his mother, Shirley Hasty; and 8 brothers and sisters, Deborah Fields, Frankie Emerson, Sherry Duvall, Steven Fields, Doug Fields, Jeff Fields, Shirlene Mason, and Willard Bouma.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 28, 2019 at New Life Town Center, 420-438 Thalia Road, Virginia Beach, with Dr. Joseph Umidi officiating. The family will greet friends at the viewing from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, April 27th at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 8100 Granby St., Norfolk on Monday, April 29, 2019 at 10 a.m.
