Obituary for Brian Christopher Wright

Brian was born in Philadelphia, PA, on August 6, 1986. He was the beloved son of Fran Dixon Wright and Bobby Frank Wright. Brian and his Family moved to Floral Park, Long Island in 1991, where he resided until he was 22, when he relocated to Virginia Beach.

Brian had a variety of educational experiences. He attended St. Aloysius Academy for Boys in Bryn Mawr, PA; the Waldorf School, Garden City, Long Island; Westbury Friends School; the New York Military Academy and Floral Park Memorial High School. Brian also attended Nassau Community College, Long Island; Landmark College, Brattleboro, VT; and Full Sail University, Winter Park, FLA.

Although it may have been short, Brian lived a full life. He was well-travelled in both the U.S. and Europe. He was a Student Ambassador with the People-to-People International Travel Program, a cultural exchange program whose motto is "Peace Through Understanding." Brian participated in an Outward-Bound wilderness program on Hurricane Island, Maine, where he earned a pin for outstanding achievement.

He was an accomplished athlete; he loved to play tennis, golf, snowboarding and roller hockey, among other activities. He loved music, especially guitar and harmonica and created many original works. He often enjoyed playing at Open Mic nights. He was a talented artist with a very free spirit. Cooking was a special interest of Brian's. He often delighted in cooking for family and friends.

Professionally, Brian dabbled in a variety of areas. His primary interest was in IT.

Brian was predeceased by his father, Bobby Frank Wright, and aunts and uncles Jimmy Wright and Barbara Whiting; Karen and Carl Spies, Marilyn and Hal Schlegal, Noreen and Joseph Karasek, and beloved family friend, Sophie Marlinga.

Left to cherish Brian's memory are his mother, Fran Dixon Wright, his cousin, Jeffrey Wright on his father's side and a multitude of loving cousins on his mother's side. Also, many treasured friends throughout the U.S, and the world.

Brian was gifted with a sharp wit, a great sense of humor and a loving nature.

We will always remember Brian as a star shining brightly.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 26 at 1:00 pm at Church of the Holy Apostles, 1593 Lynnhaven Pkwy, Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Brian's name to a local homeless outreach service of your choice.
