Obituary for Brenda Parham Bunting

Brenda Parham Bunting, 78, passed away October 16, 2021 at Sentara Leigh Hospital, Norfolk, Virginia surrounded by her family who will continue to celebrate and honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest. Born in Williamston, North Carolina, Brenda was the daughter of the late James Hamilton and Lola E. Parham.

Brenda was a dedicated mother and friend, and loved by all who knew her. She loved to garden and was a passionate bonsai and genealogy enthusiast. She played bridge and shared life with a very special group of ladies, her bridge sisters, for the last 58 years. She was active in many organizations including The Virginia Bonsai Society, Tidewater Knitting Guild, Ornish Cohort Group 22, and a bowling league. She was a leader by nature and a strong, ambitious and independent woman who feared no challenge and could do absolutely anything she aspired to do. Brenda’s passing will leave a huge void in the lives of her family and for those who loved her.

Brenda is predeceased by her loving husband of 47 years, Charles Walton Bunting. She is survived by her children: son, Charles F. Bunting, his wife Lesly and their children Galen, Lydia, Elizabeth and Andrew of Stillwater, OK; son, Christopher Bunting, his wife Kathleen, and their daughter Jessica of Virginia Beach, VA; daughter, Kimberly Bush of Virginia Beach, VA; daughter, Katherine Rancourt, her husband, Commander Ronald Rancourt, USN, Ret., and their children, Lauren, Clara and Kyle of Virginia Beach, VA and son Michael Bunting, his wife Ashley and their children Michael and Jacob. Brenda is also survived by her four siblings Elizabeth P. Clay of Rocky Mount, NC, Brian W. Parham of Virginia Beach, VA, James H. Parham of Kinston, NC and Robert W. Parham of Summerville, SC and their children and grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Lifepoint/Hope Church at 1108 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake, VA 23320.
