Obituary for Barbara Pillar Thomas
Barbara Ann Pillar Thomas of Chesapeake, VA. passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 4, 2023. Barbara died in the care of Azalealand Nursing Home in Savannah, GA.
Barbara is survived by her sister Penny Felder and her nephew Brian Felder and his family of Savannah, GA ; her niece Dana Coupland and her family, and nephew "Tiger" Day and his family, all of Chesapeake, VA.
Born in Norfolk County, VA in 1932 to William Wallace and Gladys Baxter Pillar.
Barbara graduated from Portlock High School. She went to Riverside Hospital School of Nursing and became a registered nurse. She worked in many nursing positions and went on to retire from the American Red Cross as Blood Mobile Manager. Barbara regularly attended Raleigh Heights Baptist Church in South Norfolk.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Rosewood Memorial Park on Witchduck Rd., Virginia Beach, VA.
