Augustus “Gus” Lawrence O’Melia, Jr. 73 of Waters Road passed away due to complications of COVID-19 on January 14, 2021. Gus was born in Norfolk to the late Oneida Roundtree O’Melia and Augustus L. O’Melia, Sr. Gus was also predeceased by his wife, Mary E. O’Melia and a daughter, Margaret “Beth” O’Melia, and the love of his life, Dottie Parker. He retired as a Supervisor at the Regional Operations Center for Dominion Energy after 30 years of service.

He is survived by a granddaughter, Jennifer Rae Sawyer; great grandchildren, Kirsten M. Sawyer and Aiden M. Mroz; and brother, James R. “Jimbo” O’Melia.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Graham Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake. Due to COVID restrictions temperature checks and masks will be required to enter building.
