Arnold Grant “Teenie” Gibbs passed away at his home with his family by his side on May 19, 2021 at the age of 83. Teenie was born in Currituck County, NC to the late Thomas Bennett Gibbs and Sarah Elizabeth Swindell Gibbs. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Margaret Hunter, Mildred Simmons and Manford Lee “Dinks” Gibbs. He retired as a Longshoreman with the 1840 International Longshoreman Association and was a member of Rivercrest Fellowship, Chesapeake.

Teenie is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann Kovacs Gibbs; Children, Janet Gibbs, Thomas Gibbs, and Angel Gibbs Cooke and her husband, Kevin; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a sister, Sadie Poe.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home, 1112 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake. A service to celebrate his life will be held Wednesday May 26, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Doyle Wells officiating.
